Thomas Hospital named one of the Nation’s Top 100 Hospitals

Thomas Hospital Fairhope AL has been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Thomson Reuters. The annual study awards the Top 100 Hospitals that demonstrate top performance in both clinical measures and business. The Thomson Reuters study uses objective research and independent public data to recognize the best U.S. hospitals. Thompson Reuters is a leading provider of information dedicated to improving the cost and quality of healthcare. Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to promote their award. Thomas Hospital is the only hospital in the region to be recognized.

Thomas Hospital is an affiliate of Infirmary Health System servicing the healthcare needs of the Eastern Shore and surrounding communities in Baldwin County. Offering a full range of services including a birth center, radiology, endoscopy, inpatient and outpatient surgery facilities, and an award winning cardiac program. Thomas staffs more that 1,100 employees, over 200 physicians and close to 500 Auxiliary volunteers.

The Thomas Hospital Auxiliary is one of the largest hospital auxiliary organizations in Alabama. Active members donate a minimum of four hours of their time each week at the hospital. Whether working in the gift shop or greeting you as you enter the lobby of the hospital, the volunteers provide unpaid service hours in the thousands every year.

The Thomas Hospital Foundation, created in 1993, raises funds to help provide exceptional healthcare and state-of-the-art equipment. The foundation has raised more than $19 million through a variety of fundraising events, such as the annual Thomas Hospital Foundation Golf Classic and the Grand Summer Ball. The Foundation is governed by the Thomas Hospital Board of Directors. All gifts made to the Foundation can be used only for expansions and improvements at Thomas Hospital.
