With a population of about 33,000, Alabaster is the largest city in Shelby County and continues to grow each year. Alabaster wasn’t always the small city it is today. In the 1980s, Alabaster had a population of only 7,000. Over the next three decades it would more than quadruple in size. In the 2010’s Alabaster reached 30,000 residents and has continued a steady increase every year since making it one of Alabama’s fastest growing cities.
