My top upgrades invested into the home renovation include a first class HVAC system with 1.5 tons applied to the basement level, 3.5 for the middle level and 2.5 for the upper level.  The pecan cabinets in the kitchen sets a very elegant tone for this amazing space to prepare fresh seafood meals, with the stillness of the creek and the slow swaying sawgrass in the breeze as your backdrop.  Our sellers also added brand-new decks, which create ideal outdoor living spaces for entertaining or enjoying a cup of coffee while taking in the sheer brilliance of this coastal southern landscape, as well as the occasional glimpse of a manatee exploring the protected waters of the creek below.  Folks familiar with owning waterfront property will also appreciate the fact that a new seawall was added and just beyond the bulkhead is deep water, navigable water providing safe passage all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Speaking of rural living, I think this is definitely where we need to begin our lifestyle discussion for this specific property.  Elberta is roughly 15 miles from just about anywhere you will desire to go in Foley, where like the notoriously awesome Tanger Outlet Mall, Lowe’s, Home Depot and the deliciously prepared burgers at Five Guys!  It is a very easy drive, with no traffic to speak of but you are going to want to consolidate your errands as often as possible when heading west for supplies.  The City of Elberta has a very quaint little downtown area with the necessary essentials for banking, pharmaceuticals and the occasional footlong from Subway.  I would also recommend a visit now and then to the Road Kill Cafe downtown for some amazing southern fried chicken and cornbread.

You should NOT consider purchasing this home for the convenience of the location in its traditional sense, unless you are an avid boater.  Most of my favorite places in the South Baldwin County area accessible by water.  Speaking from experience, I can tell you that traveling to dinner by boat is a far more rewarding experience than one could ever hope for by land.  You are likely to encounter dolphins cresting for air in the bay or have an opportunity to stop and share a moment of zen as the sun dips below the surface of the water.

There are all kinds of unique local hangouts to explore by boat in Orange Beach.  Cobalt has a great Happy Hour with 1$ drafts, $5 bang bang shrimp and .60 cent oysters.  A little closer to home is Pirates Cove, which has gained notoriety of the years for their amazing burgers and potent bushwhackers.  If you hang around Pirates Cove after the sun goes down, then you are in for some of the best people watching on the gulf coast.  The Wharf is a great spot if you are looking for upscale options for date night, with great shopping and live music options as well.
