This residence has been enjoyed and extremely well maintained by its current owners.  The following interview between the sellers and their Jason Will Real Estate Agent, sheds light on the personal side of 19135 Fairfield Drive, from the utility costs to the surrounding community and what the home truly has to offer:

Agent:  What were the deciding factors that led you to buy this home?

Seller:  “We bought this house because of it’s large size( 2827 sq ft.) and light filled open floor plan.  We wanted a big, fun, house so that our kids and their friends wouldn’t want to go any place else…and our plan worked!   The spaciousness of this house is so inviting!  The huge yard gives us the opportunity to play just about any game of sports we want.  The four sets of french doors open it up and let in lots of light.  We love the U shaped drive.  Our children aren’t driving yet but we knew we would really appreciate all of the parking space when they started, however, I had not realized how much we would enjoyed it now while they are little…it makes for the perfect place to ride toys, skate, scooter and even have a little Mardi Gras Parade. I can relax since they don’t have to play in the street.”

Agent:  Were schools a factor in your decision to purchase this home?

Seller:  “We wanted a large 4 bedroom 3 bath with a large garage in a neighborhood with countenances in the Fairhope school district…It’s hard to find a house this large…it has been a true blessing!”

Agent:  What have become your favorite aspects of the home?

Seller:  “When I first saw the size of our bathroom I have to say I was shocked.  We have the largest of all …but it has become my favorite aspect of this house because we are a close family and we all end up in there together while we are getting ready to go out…it’s fun, just like being in the college dorm was!  we have had princess parties in it and set up a nail salon.  You could not have told me how badly I needed a giant bathroom!!  To this I have to add that I love the floors.  They are attractive and very easy to keep…very!!!”

Agent:  Where do you find yourself spending the most time in the home and why?

Seller:  “The open kitchen-Family room is awesome.  we can cook, play board games, watch TV and use the computer all at the same time.”

Agent:  What improvements have you made to the property since the purchase?

Seller:  “We had the new front doors installed, pulled up all of the carpet and had the floors stained in all of the bedrooms and closets.  We changed all of the fixtures, painted the exterior and interior, remodeled the fireplace, put shelving over the bar, added ceiling fans so that we can throw open all of the french doors on a pretty day, recently installed a new dishwasher (so quiet) and stove.  We added new columns on the back porch and removed some of the trees and shrubs.  We also installed a new garage door and new exterior lighting.  The AC was completely rebuilt 2 years ago.”

Agent:  What is your favorite grocery store(s) in the area?

Seller:  “Publix is my favorite, you just can’t beat their fantastic customer service.  I left my wallet in the bathroom a few weeks ago and before I knew it was gone, an employee brought it to me while I was shopping.  Next is Walmart. It’s just a few minutes away.  If I need a small appliance, items to craft with, office supplies it’s great.  The Fairhope Walmart is so friendly, I know most of the employees by name.  if I just need one grocery item I run to the Piggly Wiggly…don’t laugh until you’ve shopped there…you too will be a fan after just one trip. It Rocks!”

Agent:  What are your favorite shops in town?

Seller:  “Ok, here comes a little crazy honesty…I love all of the consignment shops in town.  People move here from all over the world and when they do, they bring their cool stuff with them…it’s never predictable.  I can change up a room in a weekend!!”

Agent:  Any interests or hobbies you enjoy near the property?

Seller:  “We spend a lot of time in our yard playing.  It’s nearly an acre and it’s just beautiful.  In the Fall we harvest the pecans from the pecan trees. They produce Elliott’s and they are the finest pecans of all. The kids run remote control boats in the pond, build forts in the woods and climb the trees.”

Agent:  Average utility costs in summer and winter?

Seller:  “Our power bill averages about 275.00 a month…but we keep the ac nice and low from about May till November.”

Agent:  What will you miss most about living in or owning this property?

Seller:  “We will miss this house in every way, it’s sad to see it go.  I think I’ll miss the neighbors the most.  Everybody waves when they pass by. Our street is quiet and our neighbors are all friendly.  There is a culture of respectfulness for each other here and it’s very safe.  The only incident we’ve had occurred one day when a horse came trotting down the street.  He was unharmed and returned to his home.., that’s the extent of our excitement!”

Agent:  What will you miss most about your neighborhood and/or surrounding community?

Seller:  “I’m going to miss that the kids are free here and it’s pet friendly.  There is so much nature for them here.  Our yard always has birds and frequently has cranes, egrets and pelicans because of the creek in back.”
