One of Fairhope’s Most Beautiful Older Homes For Sale!

You do NOT want to miss out on One of Fairhope’s Most Beautiful Older Homes For Sale!

This charming home was built in 1981 and has remained in one family line ever since. The seller’s mom was the original owner and in 1998 she passed away. The seller said “I couldn’t see this wonderful warm home owned by anyone who wasn’t family. So here I remain.” When taking over the home, she was excited that her children didn’t have to change schools since this home is also in the Fairhope School system. One of her favorite features of the home is the fireplace, where she said she likes to sit and relax on a cold damp day. When she has friends over, they spend the most time in the kitchen area. It’s currently set up as a breakfast and sitting area. This is definitely her favorite spot in the whole house. When the seller is not inside she loves to spend her time out in the yard. She has an abundance of landscaping to include antique grafted Camellias, Japanese Maples and Japanese Magnolias.

This lady is a crafter so you will catch her crafting in her craft room almost every day! It is her passion. Over the years, she has done a lot of updating but most recently she added pine floors… and let me tell you from experience: they are amazing! I was truly in awe when I saw that gorgeous knotted pine. According to her, they are easy to clean and low maintenance with lots of warmth and easy on the eyes. When I asked her about her favorite grocery stores and shops in the area she replied “I love the Pig!!!  They carry so many of our wonderful local products…honey, Viper sauce, beer brewed by our very own brewery, and the best selection of wines anywhere. Their butcher is great and meats are the best.  Shopping at M&F is so much fun. Their clothing is timeless and of beautiful quality!  And let’s not forget the Dragonfly where you can sit on a beautiful day and dine on the best non-traditional tacos ever!!!!”

The sweet woman has mixed emotions over selling. She is excited for her new adventure of down-sizing but knows she will miss countless things including all the memories of her mother living here, raising her children in this home, and so many others. She has lived in this home for so many years. She said “I’ll miss my strolls around the garden in the evening, the cookouts on the deck with friends and family, my flowers, chatting with my neighbors…it’s been my home for a very long time and it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.” But now that she is getting older and single, she wants something a bit smaller that is just perfect for her.
