CHILDREN WHO THRIVE ON NONTRADITIONAL LEARNING
I had the pleasure of visiting the Renaissance School, which is a nontraditional learning environment for students 1st- 8th grade.
They are an integrated, Orton-Gillingham based, multi sensory approach to learning. This is required for students with language-based disorders to become successful learners. The Renaissance School believes in encouraging their students to share and build on their own talents, as everyone has a talent.
Each child is valued and has a value to share with others. At the Renaissance school, they know that every student deserves respect and this fosters confidence in each one of their students. The school is a nonprofit and has teachers with expertise in Dyslexia, Dyscalculia & Dysgraphia.
This non traditional learning setting has allowed these children to thrive and really love learning! They will have the confidence to share what they have learned and to continue learning.
The Renaissance school also offers homeschool and online course support, reading intervention and summer camps. Their goals are :
*To meet the academic needs of each student by using a variety of individualized, multi sensory methods.
*To instill a love of learning that promotes inquiry and exploration
*To provide students with the skills necessary to become responsible, confident and successful life-long learners
*To offer each student the best educational and life experience possible
The Renaissance School of the Eastern Shore is a 501(3)c nonprofit organization. Every donation is tax deductible and appreciated.
If you or anyone you know has a child that could benefit from this awesome learning environment, they would love to hear from you!
