Foley Alabama Homes That Sell Themselves

Falling in Love with 405 West Fern Avenue

It is a real treat to work for people who love their home and are very sentimental about leaving it behind, so much so that they hope it sells to people that will love and appreciate living there as much as they did. When our clients can’t help but rave about all the memories they have shared under the roof, it’s special. When I met with the sellers of 405 West Fern Avenue for the first time, I was greeted with a warm kindness, a big piece of fresh baked banana bread right out of the oven and a cold glass of milk. I had already eaten breakfast that morning but I am a sucker for most things banana, so I cleaned my plate out of both kindness and ravenous necessity. Who could ask for a better way for a listing interview to start?

We had a nice visit that morning and I learned a great deal about the house and why a prospective Foley home buyer might want to give this older a home a little more consideration over the new construction competition in the area. First, the house has good bones! It has stood the test of time and weathered the elements with grace and fortitude. In return, the sellers have added a new roof, replaced the a/c in 2005, added some privacy fencing, installed a new stove and dishwasher and built a large shed in backyard. The home is also very well insulated. So much so, that the sellers claim that they often have to look out the windows to tell if it is raining or not.

Second, the home has one of the best backyards I think you will find in Foley. The lot is just a tad shy of an acre and offers privacy and space to garden, build a tree house, park your boat or RV or store work equipment. You don’t have to worry about deed restrictions holding you back from taking full advantage of a huge backyard and utilizing your own property in the manner you see fit. There is a spacious screened porch overlooking the backyard, which is maybe one of the best places in Baldwin County to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee.

Third, the home is super convenient to all things Foley. The home is actually in walking distance to the city park and walking trail, and right around the corner from everything else, to include: schools, the hospital and shopping. I like the fact that you have fast access to the beach express via Highway 59 but can also take the back roads all the way to Fairhope. The home is in a well established area of similarly large lots with tall trees and full bushes, providing the more private appeal of a neighborhood, over the close quarters of a subdivision.
