What do to with sunny and 70 degree perfection in our little town by the bay? There are few things in life better than life on the water, in my opinion. Fairhope has so many wonderful things to offer if you dive in and embrace this little town on big water. If you were to poll community residents, a commonality would likely be the Pier. As you drive down to the end of Fairhope Avenue you are greeted with the most magnificent rose garden and water feature and just passed that, Shux on the Pier, a seafood and Oyster Bar.

Fairhope Bayfront Park
When the sun goes s blazing over Mobile Bay, the Bayfront park is bustling with activity. Yesterday, I loaded up the topless jeep with kids, bulldog, towels and some water and we headed down to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. At the entrance gate, there were quite a few cars ahead of us. During season, there is an attendant who collects admission, etc. It is $8/ car or $3/person. There are a few rules you’ll want to be aware of (insert photo) as you visit the Park. If you are a Fairhope Resident, take your proof of residency and go visit city hall where you’ll receive your parking pass to come and go freely, with no admission. For more information on what to bring to obtain your pass, please call 251.990.0130.
Bring your pup! Many people aren’t aware that dogs are welcome, yet they must be on a leash at all times. Our English bulldog, Nola Claire, loves attention and activity, so she loves coming to play on the beach. She was especially excited when she was greeted at the admission gate with a treat. It’s her love language! 🙂
There are tons of amenities located within the park! The amenities include a covered pavilion where reservations are accepted and permitted. Just call the Parks & Recreation Department and they will reserve your day and time! The playground equipment includes swings, seasaws, balance beams, slides and much more and is honestly one of our kids favorite parks! There is also a beach volleyball net just waiting for a match, just bring your own volleyball! The duck pond is precious. Literally the sweetest thing, I mean, if you enjoy watching fuzzy little cute balls of joy in their natural habitat. Bring some bread or cheerios to maximize the experience.
There is a grilling area just South of the Pavillon, you’ll need to bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid. There are public restrooms throughout the park area and on the pier. If you are looking for a action packed day of sunshine and fresh air, I highly recommend you load up the family and come visit Fairhope Municipal Pier. If you are more of the water sports enthusiast, feel free to bring your kayak and explore the waters of Mobile Bay! Fishing is welcome as well, but a Salt Water Fishing License is required.
