This Extravagant Beach Front Home in Gulf Shores Alabama Deserves A Closer Look!
Who hasn’t dreamed of having a BEACH FRONT HOME? When the current sellers saw this home on Dolphin Drive, it was love at first sight. They entered through the front door and immediately saw the ocean and huge blue sky right from the front doorsteps. The openness and the 24- foot high ceilings allow for amazing natural light. They knew at that point they found the home they absolutely loved. During the listing presentation, I asked if schools were a factor for them. They replied with “NO, schools were not a factor since we did not live here full time, though I knew that if we ever changed our minds and moved here permanently, we would feel good about our child attending local schools.” 3229 Dolphin Dr has so much to offer so I asked the sellers what their top 5-10 favorite features about the home are. “We love the open floor plan. In addition to the living-rooms and bedrooms, we enjoy having rooms of special interests. My husband adores his office with custom wood bookcases and a marble desk. The game room is our favorite place when we have company and have a lot of fun playing pool, ping-pong, foosball or shuffleboard, or enjoying dessert or drinks at the pub table. The movie-theater room and an exercise area are frequently enjoyed. One of the bedrooms upstairs facing the ocean serves as my office/crafts/yoga/meditation room. Our guests also enjoy staying in a spacious pirate themed bedroom.”
Most of the time you will find the sellers in the living-room sitting on their comfy couch that is facing the sparkling ocean water, rolling waves and floating white feather clouds as well as on an occasion seeing dolphins playfully swimming by or a blue heron landing on the deck railing. Life is a beach they said! “As much as we liked what we were buying, the way the house looks now differs a lot from the first day we saw it. We changed the color of the house, added balconies and balustrades, changed the front door and the outside staircase, landscaped the backyard with palm trees, remodeled the master bathroom with natural stone, added beautiful light fixtures; we also furnished the house since we bought it unfurnished. A lot of work and love went into this place, but we did not mind doing it because we were doing it for ourselves and wanted our place to look and feel good for us and our family and friends.”
Location, location, location…we can’t leave out the plus of privacy. So let’s talk about that! On top of everything else, this location offers just the right amount of privacy. This community is at the very end of west beach and it is gated for security and privacy. But if you want to ride into town with family or friends to go shopping you aren’t too far from the Tanger Outlet Center – which is a great place for designer gifts at affordable prices. The beach out back also belongs only to the owners of this community, which is a great privacy plus! “We love to walk the beach and we never get tired of photographing sunrises, sunsets, and wildlife. The colors are amazing and you never know whose tracks or footprints you will spot on the sand.” Another great feature is that even though this home is very big, the average electric bill is only around $301 per month and the water bill is about $25. The sprinkler system is on a well so it doesn’t use city water – score!
“Even though we absolutely love this place, our hearts want to be close to the grandkids who are still too young to travel here. Our first granddaughter is a micro-preemie and we were primary caretakers for her so we want to spend more time and be closer to our growing family right now. We will truly miss the peace and tranquility of the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge at the end of our street, sunshine on the water, finding beautiful shells on the beach, night sky with billions of stars in it and occasional shooting stars. Even though this brings us so much happiness and peace, our grandkids come first. We are excited to see the next family purchase this home and make memories in it, or maybe even an investor using it for profit, or it becoming a rental machine.”
