Every Home has a Story

There are many memories and cherished times in the home you fell in love with. But as time changes lives and people grow and move. Each home has a unique story. Some homes have had many families; some have had only one. The same can be said for both: There are hours worth of tales a home can tell. I love to get the story from my homeowners before I list their home. Each story helps in selling the home and also reminds me of why I do what I do. My purpose is to serve; to truly help people on a daily basis. I am here to aid individuals achieve their goals of owning their own property, of moving closer to family, or start a new life.  I am constantly learning and meeting wonderful new people and I absolutely love hearing each and every one’s story. I believe they are very important in the sale of a home. Buyers want to know a home’s story before they buy it, out of sheer curiosity, or striving to be a sensible buyer, or a bit of both.

Lisa and Robert were a joy from the first day I met them. As soon as I walked into their home for our first appointment, I could tell there had been a lot of love in that house. They moved into the home in 2007 after it was completed buy Adam’s Homes, and have kept it immaculate for 10 years. The home still looks new. They moved in when their teenage boys were in high School in Daphne (The split floor plan was a must). The boys decided to stay at Daphne High School until graduation and then moved on to college. Since, the carpets on the far side of the home have had very little traffic but were still professionally cleaned prior to listing. When I asked what their favorite features of the home were, they responded saying:
“The master bedroom (& its size) has to take top spot! A close second is the family room. The kitchen and breakfast nook are great places to hang out & socialize with guests. We love the back deck as well! The dining room is great for big family dinners and card/board games with the kids. I must mention the master bath – We love it. The size is perfect for two people trying to get ready in the mornings, without running over one another!”

This home has great spaces whether you are in the mood to unwind and relax or host a party. Between the family room, the den/office area, the HUGE Master bedroom, and the gigantic backyard, the hardest part is deciding which is your favorite. Over the years, even the best spaces need a little sprucing up, Robert and Lisa decided to replace the carpet in the living areas with wood laminate flooring, they replaced most of the light fixtures, and have completely repainted their kitchen and cabinets, opening the room with lighter colors.

They value how close their home is to what they need. Piggly Wiggly and Burris Farm Market are very close for quick groceries and fresh produce, Walmart and restaurants are within 10 minutes, and their commute to Mobile is easy with a 6-minute drive to I-10. Both Robert and Lisa enjoy walking the beautiful, well-kept neighborhood and watching boats on the lake fish for bass and trout. Lakeland also boasts a very clean community pool and clubhouse for neighborhood use. Residents can even rent the clubhouse for private parties! Loxley Park is also close and is a great place for walking, biking, and sports activities.

The utilities on a 2240 Square Foot house in Alabama are normally extremely high, especially for a full electric home. This home is extremely efficient for them with Summer electric costs averaging $140-$160 per month, while winter averages $130-$150 per month. Spring and Fall months average from $117-$120.

This home has been amazing for the Williams family, but with their children out of the home and starting their own families, along with retirement, they have decided to sell their home for another family to make memories in. They plan to move closer to their grandchildren and downsize to something a little smaller. If you are interested in this home’s amazing story and would like to see it in person, I would love to take you through for a tour.
