Agent: How did you know this was the home you were meant to buy?

Seller: Everything is custom from the tall ceilings to the crown molding. All of the upgrades and the southern charm that this home has that others do not have, and still it is newer than so many other homes. It has a lot of character. My boy loves to fish and we are right in front of the pond; it is so relaxing to sit out there and read. I love the security of this neighborhood. There is a police officer that lives in here and all of the neighbors watch out for each other without being in each other’s business. Being a single woman at the time I needed that safe feeling. I also like the teen suite upstairs. It was just perfect for company or my teenager at the time.

Agent: What have become your top 5-10 favorite features of the home?

Seller: The tall ceilings, tons of storage, having two walk in attics along with all of the walk in closets, its energy efficiency, and all of the upgrades and character.

Agent: Where do you find yourself spending the most time in the home and why?

Seller: Outside: I enjoy working in the yard as well as sitting out on the porch at night looking at the moon shine down on the lake and just having my moment of quietness.

Agent: What improvements have you made to the home or property over the years?

Seller: The new screen in the porch, adding the pergola, and new paint on the walls. There was really nothing that needed to be changed.

Agent: What are your favorite grocery stores and shops in the area?

Seller: Being 8 min from downtown Fairhope is a positive but also a negative to my husband because of all of the awesome shops down there. Everything is so convenient. If you need milk at 9pm just run to the dollar store. It is the perfect location.

Agent: Any interests or hobbies you enjoy on or near the property?

Seller: My hobby is feeding the fish and watching my boy fish which I can do right from my front porch. I work out at the YMCA so it is very nice to have that so close by as well.

Agent: Average utility costs in summer and winter?

Seller: Summer: $120; winter: $190–depending on the way our weather is that winter.

Agent: What will you miss most about living in or owning this property, as well as the surrounding community?

Seller: I will miss the neighbors, the kids in the neighborhood that I have grown attached to, and the pond right out front.

Agent: If you don’t mind me asking, why have you decided to sell your home?

Seller: Well, I am a country girl. I want to shoot my gun, ride my four wheeler, and really this home is too big for us now. We only use 4 rooms out of the downstairs so it is a great family home. My daughter has moved to an apartment so we are just looking for a small cottage in the woods now. But this home will surely be missed. Too bad we can’t pick it up and move it!

Agent: Who was your builder?

Seller: This home was built by McLaughlin Builders. This is such a well built home! Parade of Homes winner in 2008 and when this home first came on the market the price was 399k-359k- lower and lower.

Agent: How much does your insurance run and is it Gold Certified?

Seller: Yes, my homeowners is with Alfa Insurance in Daphne on 98 and I highly recommend them. I pay $2100 and this is for my wind & hail, hurricane all in one policy.
