Best Restaurants in Fairhope, AL

Looking For Your Next Great Meal? There are many amazing restaurants here, but here’s the top of my list!

Breakfast starts early at Julwin’s Restaurant and it has always been great. It is locally owned and a regular spot for most of the locals. Warehouse Bakery and Donuts is so much more than meets the eye. Their breakfast bowls are made from fresh ingredients and as long as you can resist their pastries, you can leave feeling like you have had a healthy start to your day.  Further out in the country you will find a spot called The Biscuit King. You haven’t lived until you try one of their Ugly Biscuits. They literally bake bacon, eggs, sausage, cheese, etc. into their made-from-scratch-every-morning-secret-recipe-dough. (I have been after that recipe for years). Is your mouth watering yet? Owned by some of the sweetest people you will meet, this is as close to home cooked hospitality as I have seen in a restaurant.

I would say my favorite lunch spots are in downtown mostly for the food, partially for the atmosphere. Starting with Panini Pete’s, I don’t have to say much about Pete, he’s a local celebrity for getting on Diners drive-ins and Dives with Guy. Everything is great there and FYI they hand make their own Fresh Mozzarella cheese. Dragonfly has some pretty amazing tacos, and I would personally say they are worth the $8 a piece. Make sure you get a few appetizers to help fill you up if you eat like I do. Thyme on Section is great for lunch; I love getting their specials. The Chef there is an artist with food. I have yet to have anything there that wasn’t superb. All of these lunch spots are awesome for dinner as well, but when I think dinner, I think of the best meal of the day, the one that puts you to sleep at night satisfied.

If you are staying Downtown for dinner, Master Joes is my end-all-be-all, hands-down, favorite Sushi place I have ever been to, the sushi chefs are truly the best. I have seen them make countless dishes that left my mouth gaping in amazement. And it tastes as good as it looks. If you’re not into Sushi, there are plenty of land and sea options that are completely cooked and just as good so I have been told. (I can’t help but get sushi every time I go).  The Wash House Restaurant is easily accessible from the Grand Hotel and has a great menu. Don’t forget to save room for desert. Their Key Lime Bread Pudding is To. Die. For. It sounds a little different, but definitely worth trying. If you are really looking to impress or maybe have one of the best meals of your life, then make the drive down to Magnolia Springs and eat at Jesse’s. Honestly, I am a steak person. I know they may not be the healthiest thing, but I could eat red meat 5 days a week. And Jesse’s has the best steak I have ever eaten. Specifically, it is a petite wet-aged Delmonico cut of ribeye and it has just the right amount of melt-in-your-mouth.  Add in a glass of wine and their rolls and man, my stomach is growling. Located on Magnolia River so you can also go by boat!

These are just a few of the many great restaurants here, I hope you have enough time to try more of them and come up with your very own list of favorites. Fairhope is an amazing place. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do every day.
