Jason: How did you know this was the home for you?
Seller: “Upon entering the foyer, my eyes were immediately drawn to the beautiful 7-foot windows in the living room area. As I ventured further into the home, I noticed the 9-foot ceilings and the intricate crown molding throughout the home. I really appreciated the openness of the floor plan as well and began to imagine what it would be like to entertain family and friends in such an amazing space. The super spacious master bedroom with an amazing walk-in closet was icing on the cake!
Jason: What selling features would you like for folks touring the home to focus on?
Seller: “I sincerely hope interested buyers will appreciate the tall windows as much as I do. I just love to relax in the living room with a good book and look up occasionally to catch a glimpse of a fluttering bird or a prowling squirrel. I also have a great appreciation for the amount of natural light, that permeates through the windows into this very cozy living space.”
Jason: Have you made any improvements to the property?
Seller: In the master bath, there was a wall above the shower stall, creating a very “closed in” feeling. The bathroom was also painted a dark chocolate brown – simply dreary. I removed the wall and painted the room a bright, cheery color. One of the spare bedrooms has gorgeous hardwood floor; but had hot pink walls. I painted the walls a deep green and the wooden siding a vibrant white… giving the room an inviting, rich feel. The back yard was divided into two segments and not only contained a large, “homemade” dog house, but was overgrown with large bushes. I tore down the dog house, fencing, and cleaned out the large bushes. I added a chain link fence on the side of the house. The yard is now cleaner and bigger! So much better! There were also some large bushes blocking the front view of the house. I cleaned those out as well and fresh flowers were added to a wheelbarrow and to a shepherds hook. In addition, pine straw was added to the landscape. The home now has a very inviting curb appeal!
Jason: What are your favorite shops in town?
Seller: “Southern Sass is a fun, unique store. They have a variety of gifts which can be monogrammed. There is also a new donut shop – you got to stop in and get you some!! I often travel to the Eastern Shore Centre in Spanish Fort, near Interstate 10, where they have a plethora of shops and restaurants. I can be there in 25 minutes!”
Jason: Where do you like to do your grocery shopping?
Seller: “I typically shop at Wal-Mart which is a mere couple of miles from the house. However, I do like to hit the Publix whenever I make a trip to the Eastern Shore Centre.”
Jason: Are the utility bills reasonable?
Seller: “My Alabama Power bill in the winter months averaged $170-190; the summer $150-160. I love to entertain with family and friends – therefore I attribute the high costs to having company over quite often.”
Jason: What will you miss most about the home?
Seller: “The large windows and high ceilings. And, of course, the large bedroom. Last but not least, being in close proximity to my walking area.”
Jason: What do want people reading this article to know about life in Gilmer Circle and the surrounding Bay Minette community?
Seller: “Bay Minette is a “Mayberry” kind of town. It is quiet and full of friendly folks! Everything is in close proximity. Gilmer Circle is a quaint little cul-de-sac with only five homes. The neighbors are all respective of each other and keep their lawns well-manicured and their bushes neatly trimmed. I have grown to adore every one of my neighbors and my life is richer for knowing each of them!”
